Can a trading bot beat fees?

How it works
Every round trip pays the fee twice, once to buy and once to sell, and the slippage twice. Net result per trade = gain before costs − 2 × (fee + slippage). The 30-day figure compounds that net result over every trade in 30 days.
The minute-signal example uses what our first paper trader measured in September 2026: about +0.06% per trade before costs, against a median round-trip cost of 0.46% with market orders on small coins. The 4-hour example uses the average trade of our trend rule over nine years of replay, about +2.6% with five trades a month; its live two-week result was still a loss.
Questions
Why does a 60% win rate still lose?
Because the size of the wins matters more than how often you win. If the average trade makes 0.06% and costs 0.46%, every trade loses about 0.4% on average, whatever the win rate. Break-even win rate calculator.
What cost should I use for my exchange?
Use the fee for market orders on your fee tier, then add the spread you cross and a little for slippage. On Upbit the spread is often one price tick; see what one tick costs at your coin's price.
